Why is Netphone2phone different from other voice-over-the-Internet offerings?
Not only does Netphone2phone provide high quality, free TalkByPC voice communication with any other
subscriber, anywhere in the world, anytime of the day or night, you can also make calls to
nonsubscribers, because the Netphone2phone network connects with the traditional Public

Do I need to have my computer turned on to talk on the phone?
Yes. Your computer must be turned on and connected to the Internet
when using the Netphone2Phone.
Can I use Netphone2phone with a NAT (Network Address Translator) or a firewall?
A NAT is often used between private networks (like those used at home or
at work) and the Internet to map a private IP address to a public IP
address. Routers and software gateways (such as Internet Connection
Sharing in Windows) usually also function as NATs. Firewalls, on the
other hand, filter access to protected networks.
Netphone2phone works with most NATs and firewalls without any additional
setup. However, if your calls do not connect or you experience one-way
voice, you likely have a NAT/firewall problem. In that case, you will
need to ask your network administrator to open ports on the firewall
or set up port mappings on the NAT.

What to do if the sound is choppy?
There are many factors that are involved in a VoIP call. The most
important factors are a fast Internet connection and a good headset
or speakers/mic. The performance of the call may also be affected
by having many applications running on your PC which will use up
much of your RAM memory. Try shutting down some applications
during your call.
What to do if you hear echo on the call?
Believe it or not, most of the acoustic echo you may hear is because
you have your sound too high. What happens is your microphone (or
your headset mic) will pick up the sound coming through your
speakers (or your headset speakers) and will cause an acoustic echo.
If this is happening, the best thing to do is to simply turn your
speaker volume down. You do not need to turn your microphone volume
down.
Will I be charged for my incomplete call?
If you were connected for more than 5 seconds, then the call is
regarded as successful and you will be charged for the actual
call duration.
My call duration was less than one minute, but I was charged for full minute?
All charged prices are rounded up to the next minute.
