The NetPhoneNetwork issues NetPhone numbers only to users who have a regular
telephone number. The telephone number must be your residential, cell phone
or business telephone number; You must have a regular (PSTN) telephone number
in order to download and use the NetPhone, even though the NetPhone number
does not work in any manner with your telephone company. The NetPhone number
will be the same as your existing telephone number. You can be assigned another
number, but it must be a number in use by an immediate family member, who has
permitted your use. We reserve the right to verify your permission to use the
family member's number.
InfoLinkTel and the NetPhoneNetwork does not encourage you to sever your existing
telephone service, even though the NetPhone can suffice most of your needs. If the
NetPhoneNetwork and InfoLinkTel had to verify identification and issue numbers other
than your existing telephone number, there would be costs involved and we couldn’t
offer Free Service. There is however, a greater concern and that is of National
Security. If we issued phone numbers indiscriminately, we’d be providing the
Terrorists with a Communications tool.
Your present telephone number along with your internet protocol number (which
identifies your computer) gives us the ability to monitor calls, but the
NetPhoneNetwork and InfoLinkTel has a strict policy of maintaining privacy,
however, a court order could expose any illegal use.
